Since its birth eCTRL Solutions has participated in major projects of tourism portal development as a provider of the Suggesto® technology, as well as a provider of services for designing and implementing the following advanced tourism web portals:
The portal has been developed by a consortium of companies led by EC3 Networks (prime contractor) including Siemens PSE, ECTRL Solutions, Asio-Data, and Lixto. The new Finnish Tourism Portal is the worldwide visiting card for Finland and makes Finland even more attractive as a tourist destination. ECTRL Solutions implemented the travel planning and recommendation services for the portal. The portal has been contracted to the consortium by the Finnish Tourism Board (MEK) which is the owner of the service.
1st September 2009: the new Tourist Portal of Trentino, www.visittrentino.it, is on line. The portal has been developed by a pool of companies led by Informatica Trentina. ECTRL Solutions supported the integration of Liferay portal server and developed most of the front end services, including highly interactive web 2.0 search functionalities, the travel planner, and the map, weather forecast, and search engine components.
The new ATL Biella Tourism Portal has chosen Suggesto™ Solutions to helps visitors to bundle their personal travel plans by selecting interesting tourist products and services. The user expresses his travel desires, receives information regarding the best products for him, and chooses the products that meet his requirements, such as destinations, accommodation, restaurants, events, itineraries and activities. In this way the user can build his personal travel plan, save it and have it always at his disposal: first, during and after his vacation!

since 2006: carrying out of the tourist portal for Azienda Turistica Locale (ATL) di Biella – Suggesto™ Travel Portal;
2007: integrating the recommendation system - Suggesto Travel™ Recommender – into the Tourist Portal of Austria;
since 2007: creating the Trentino Tourist Portal – Liferay platform management and delivery of front end services – partner: CONIT;
since 2008: integrating recommendation technology into the new Tourist Portal of Finland - partners: EC3, Siemens, Asiodata, Lixto.
